Chapter 10 "Where it All Began"

I was late getting home from hanging with Shawn.  I checked the time on my phone it read 12:15. I didn't even realize i was gone that long. Also when checking my phone, i had a couple of texts from Tony, Kelly,  and my mom. I didn't even know i had them, it must of been because my phone was on vibrate. When i walked in the house i was trying to be quiet so that I wouldn't wake Tony. I was hoping he would be sleep because i already knew he was going to be questioning me. The minute i walked in the stupid dog, started barking and shit. I was trying to calm it down but it just kept barking. I took the dog into the kitchen and locked him in there then went upstairs. As soon as i walked into the room and flicked the light on, I seen Tony sitting in the chair in our room, like he had been waiting for me to come home. When i saw him, i kind of jumped because he had scared me.

(Bey) holding her chest "Gosh Tony, you scared me." i said throwing the keys and my phone down on the bed.


(Tony) "Where you been?" he asked "I woke up and you were gone."


(Bey) "Oh, Solange had called and asked if i could bring her some things to Angie's house and I stopped over Kelly's on the way home." i said quickly lying.


(Tony) "I've been trying to reach you all day."


(Bey) "Well my battery had died when i was at Kelly's house, i wasn't expecting to be over there that long." i said still lying.


(Tony) giving me a look like he knows i'm lying "Hmp.....if you say so."


(Bey) "Well, I'm about to go and take a shower and get up out these clothes."


(Tony) just staring at bey


Bey walks away to go get in the shower leaving her phone on the bed. Tony is still sitting there in the chair. Bey's phones goes off and it's a text from Shawn.


(Text From Shawn) Hey, i was just checking to see if you made it home safely. I had such an amazing time with you, as always. Also you left your purse at the studio, if you want i can drop it off to you tomorrow. Okay, well i'll talk to you tomorrow. Sleep well.....Goodnight.


(Tony's thoughts) Who could this possibly be, texting Bey at this time of night. I thought she told me her phone with dead. I bet you its that punk ass nigga Shawn. She probably wasn't even at Kelly's house nor was she with Solo. I bet you she was with him.


While Bey was in the shower, Tony went through Bey's phone checking her call log and also the text message Shawn had sent. He got so mad when he saw that it was Shawn texting and he deleted the text.


(Tony's thoughts) I knew she was with him, how could she lie to me. I really can't believe her. I never thought things would turn out like this. And no matter what i do or what i say, she is always going to hate me. I wish there was something that i could do to fix this. It has to be something. I can't let her find out the results of that test. I have to think of something so that she doesn't find out.


When Tony heard Bey getting out the shower, he got into bed and placed her phone where she left it. He was trying to pretend that he had gone to sleep. Bey got out the shower, put on her pajamas, and got into bed. And moments later she had fell asleep not knowing what Tony did.


The next morning when Bey awoke, Tony was gone out of the bed. She smelt an aroma of food in the air which meant Tony had to of been cooking. She went into the bathroom to freshen up and as she was in the middle of brushing her teeth, when Tony came into the bathroom to greet her.

Tony walked into the bathroom all cheery and happy. I could tell something was up.


(Tony) "Good morning beautiful." he said kissing me on my forehead.


(Bey) "Good morning."


I started smiling and laughing out of awkwardness because it's been a while since I've seen Tony like this, and then he just stood there staring at me smiling making feel all uncomfortable.


(Tony) "I've got some good news for you."


(Bey) "Good news??? What new you got for me?" i was confused, i had no idea what he was up too or what was going on.


(Tony) ""Well first thing's first, i made all your favorites for breakfast" he said all smiling "No. 2, well we can just wait for that one, but No. 3 ........here." he said handing me an envelope.


(Bey) with a confused look on her face "Whats this?"


(Tony) "Open it and see."


When i opened the envelope, i saw that it was the results of the DNA test. When i saw that it came back negative, meaning he wasn't the father, i instantly became speechless. Apart of me so bad, wanted him to be the father of that baby. Then again i was relieved because i couldn't deal with all the stress.


(Bey) "Omg Tony and wow" was all i could say.


(Tony) "Your happy for me right?"


(Bey) "Yea i am, but that still doesn't change the fact that you still was messing around with her."


(Tony) "Bey, i know your tired of me saying this but IM SORRY. Lets' just put the past behind us, so we could move on towards our future."


(Bey) starts to think "Okay. But this is your last chance Antonio and i mean it."


(Tony) "Baby, i promise from here on out things are going to be different. I just wanna spend the rest of my life making you happy."


(Bey) "I sure hope so."


(Tony) "I mean it........so are you ready for No. 2 now?"


(Bey) "And what's No. 2?"


(Tony) "You gotta close your eyes and follow me?"


(Bey) "Tony where are you taking me" i asked following him, not knowing where he was taking me.


(Tony) "It's a surprise."


I followed him out our bedroom, down the stairs and out the front door. When we got outside, Tony told me i could open my eyes. My mouth dropped when i saw a car sitting out in the street.


(Bey) shocked and surprise "Tony, is.....is that for me???"


(Tony) "Yup it sure is" he said smiling all proud "I had it custom made especially for you, with everything you love."


(Bey) "You know i could have just bought my own Antonio, you di--"


(Tony) "I know Bey, but i had too. I wanna show you that i wanna do better. There's no limits to the things i'll do for you."


(Bey) "Thank you Tony, i really appreciate this. And i have to admit i admire you for trying." I said hugging him and kissing him on the cheek.


(Tony) "Alright baby, lets go inside and have some breakfast. I know your probably hungry."


(Bey) "Am I???" i said playfully but serious.


We got back inside to eat and to my surprise the table was all neatly set. He was right about having all my favorites, from waffles to pancakes, from bacon to sausages, from omelets to croissants, and all my favorite fruits. Mmmm, i couldn't wait to eat, but just as i was sitting down my started ringing from out my bedroom. I told Tony i'll be right back so that i could go get my phone. It was Shawn calling.


(Bey) "Gooooooood morning" i said in my happy voice.


(Shawn) "Well someone's a little extra happy this morning" he said trying to be funny " But good morning to you."


(Bey) laughing at Shawn


(Shawn) "How'd you sleep last night?"


(Bey) "I slept good, what about you?"


(Shawn) "Im slept great, its crazy though...." he said laughing


(Bey) "Whats crazy?" i asked a little curious


(Shawn) "I don't know if i should be telling you this, it's a little awkward." he still laughing


(Bey) "Well you could tell me anything right???" i said with sarcasm, trying to mock what Shawn's says.


(Shawn) "Oh you trying to be funny?" he asked playfully.


(Bey) giggling "Noooo, but i wanna know. Come on you could tell me."


(Shawn) "Aw man, i don't know where to begin."


(Bey) "Im listening...." i said trying to help him get his words out.


(Shawn) "Okay, ima just put it like this.....i had the craziest dream last night about me and you. And I'm leaving it at that."


(Bey) "A dream???? What about?" i asks trying to be nosy, because if it was anything like the one i had, then it is crazy.


(Shawn) "Im not gonna tell you that." he said sounding a little embarrassed.


(Bey) "And why not?" it's not like i cared, i jut wanted to mess with him a bit.


(Shawn) "Because it was awkward enough i had the dream." he said chuckling.


(Bey) "Oh, so it that why you called me?" i asked still playing around with him.


(Shawn) "Oh na....i was actually calling to tell you that you left your purse at my studio."


(Bey) "Shit, i forgot all about that purse. Thanks for calling me though to let me know."


(Shawn) "Oh no prob. I had sent you text last night, but when you didn't text back, i figured you had gone to sleep."


(Bey) "Really? I never got it." i said trying to recap last night "Also when i came home, i hopped straight in the shower and went to bed. But i still should have received it."


(Shawn) "Maybe it didn't go through, cuz sometimes i get a bad signal in my house."


(Bey) "Oh okay....maybe."


(Shawn) "If you want i can drop it off or maybe we could meet up."


(Bey) starts to think "I could meet up with you, i have to go over Kelly's house anyway. I'll call you when i leave out."


(Shawn) "Alright." hangs up


After i got off the phone with Shawn i walked out into the hallway of my bedroom and Tony was standing there at the top of the stairs. What the fuck is up with his ass and all this sneaky shit, it's starting to freak me out. I didn't know rather or not he was just walking up or if he's been standing there the whole time.


(Bey) "What are you doing up here?"


(Tony) "I was coming to check on you, you were gone for a while and your food was starting to get cold."


(Bey) "Oh i was coming right back, Solo had called asking if i could come get her today." i said lying.


(Tony) ""Hmp, oh okay." he said as he didn't believe me "Well are you coming back down or what?"


(Bey) "Yea I'm coming down now, lets go."

We went back downstairs to finish eating, it was a little awkward because Tony wasn't all in his happy mood no more. I just sat there eating not paying him any mind. After i was done eating i texted Kelly to let her know i was coming over, and told Solo that i was coming to get her. Thank god Kelly was home and Solo was ready to come home. I went upstairs to shower and get dress. Then here comes Tony creepy ass walking in the bathroom after me. He walked up behind me grabbing me from the back, as if he was trying to scare me a little. 

(Bey) "TONY.....God, you really have to stop sneaking up on me like that." i said laughing halfway playing but halfway serious.

(Tony) Smirks "My bad, i was just coming to see what you were doing?"

(Bey) "Weeeeeeeell i WAS.... about to get in the shower."

(Tony) "Oh okay, you going over Kelly's?"

(Bey) "Well after i go get Solo." 

He tried to be slick and switch up my words, but i caught on.

(Tony) "Oh okay, well ima go take the dog for a walk."

(Bey) "Where's he at anyway? I haven't seen him all morning."

(Tony) "I had to lock him out on the patio, he had pooped all over the kitchen. Im also taking his as to a trainer cuz i don't have time for that shit." He joked.

(Bey) laughing "ewww, and okay baby let me get in the shower so i can get going."

(Tony) kissed bey on the cheek "Okay baby, see you later. Im about to head out."

(Bey) kisses Tony back "Alright."

After showering and getting  dressed i called Shawn letting him know i was leaving out. We met up in front of PC's. When i pulled up Shawn was already parked. I parked across the street and walked over to meet Shawn to get my purse.

(Shawn) "Geesh how many purses do you have?"he asked getting out the car, noticing i was already carrying one.

(Bey) "Enough and hush up punk, where's my purse?"

(Shawn) stats laughing "Well excuse me and here it is." he said handing me my purse, but when i reached for it he snatched it back.

(Bey) "You better stop playing with me, for i kick your butt." i joked.

(Shawn) "Oh shit, don't go Houston Texas on me."

(Bey) laughing "You are so silly...now give me my purse."

(Shawn) "Lets make a trade for it."

(Bey) "A trade??"

(Shawn) "Yea, you give me a hug and ill give you your purse."

(Bey) rolls her eyes and smirks "If you wanted a hug, all you have to do was ask" i teased as i hugged him.

(Shawn) "Na, i just wanted to mess with you." he said laughing handing me my purse.

(Bey) grabbing her purse "You are such a sucker."

(Shawn) "Aw man, why i gotta be all that."

(Bey) "Im just playing" i said pinching his cheeks "You know i love you."

(Shawn) "Oh now you love me, but just a few seconds ago i was a sucker." he joked.

(Bey) "You are such a cry baby." i teased.

(Shawn) "Oh now I'm a cry baby??"

We both laughed.

(Shawn) "Well what are you doing later on?"

(Bey) "Well right now, I'm headed over Kelly's then after i leave there I'm going to go pick up my sister."

(Shawn) "Oh yea.....you did tell me that. Well i don't want to hold you up, just get at me later." 

(Bey) "Okay" i said starting to walk away.

(Shawn) looking at Bey's car "Damn thats you?"

(Bey) turns back towards Shawn "Yuuuuup."

(Shawn) "Thats nice" he said getting back in the car.

(Bey) "Yea i know." i joked.

(Shawn) pops head head back out car "Oh don't get cocky." he teased.

I got back in the car and so did Shawn, we both drove off. Moments after driving off from Shawn i received a text from him.

(Text From Shawn) Oh and by the way, and i wasn't talking about the car when i said "Thats nice." I mean you were working them shorts. lol ;)

(Text TO Shawn) lol You are such a perv, but yea i know. Im blessed, no need to tell me.

(Text From Shawn) Yes you are, lol 

(Text TO Shawn) Bye fool, lol

(Text From Shawn) :(

(Text TO Shawn) Okay, i'll text you when i get to Kelly's, you big baby.

(Text From Shawn) Cool, and your gonna stop calling me names!!!! 

(Text TO Shawn) Shawn you and I both know, what its is. So lets not go there. lol

(Text From Shawn) lol Yea okay, we'll see. Don't forget to text me back either.

(Text TO Shawn) OKay.

It wasn't long before i pulled up at Kelly's place. I walked right in and she was sitting on the couch watching tv, it was her off day, so she was just relaxing.

(Kelly) "Where you been little missy? I haven't seen you since you've been out the hospital."

(Bey)  sitting down in chair "Yea, i know. I just been chilling out at the house and hanging with Shawn."

(Kelly) "Excuse me, you were out hanging with Shawn and I've been over here bored and lonely." 

(Bey) "You are so dramatic, but I'm over here now soooooooooo...."

(Kelly) "Yea, yea, yea. So whats the latest?"

(Bey) "Girl let me teeeeeeeeell you."

I let her know about the situation between Tony and I, and how's been smothering me, about him buying me a dog, making breakfast, buying me a car, and the results of the test. I also told her about the conversation Shawn and I and the day we had together.

(Kelly) "Tony is really trying to step his game up huh, i still can't believe his ass was almost about to be a dad. Shit, i still can't believe he was still messing around with that nasty bitch."

(Bey) "Girl I know, it's crazy. I been kind of thinking it's a little too late but I'm like this is his LAST chance. He's has been making effort too and on top of that, i want us to be able to work out for the sake of the baby."

(Kelly) "Yea, i understand. But i got to ask you, what the hell happened that night you called him SHAWN. Cuz girl when you told me that, i swear i could have just died." she said laughing.

(Bey) "Oh god, why would you even remind me. His ass went crazy, he had slammed me up against a wall and was yelling at me and shit...an--"

(Kelly) "Wait so he put his hands on you?" she was getting mad "Did he forget that you were pregnant."

(Bey) "I know Kel, i had got on him about that. And he apologized. But let that would of been vice versa i would have been doing the same thing."

(Kelly) "But yea Bey, your pregnant. He could have hurt the baby, thank god nothing was wrong."

(Bey) "Yea i know."

(Kelly) "Alright so tell me more about you and Shawn?" she said switching the subject, she could tell i was getting aggravated. 

(Bey) "Oh lord....i didn't tell you i had a dream about him did i?"

(Kelly) "What?!" Nooooo, tell me pleeeeeeeeease." she started getting all excited.

(Bey) "Yes. Lets just put it like this, some shit was about to happen."

(Kelly) stars laughing "Oh wow, do you think yal ever.....well you know in real life."

(Bey) "What! Im pregnant and besides he and I are just friends. Despite how we feel about each other, he understand my situation and respect my decisions."

(Kelly) "Well how about if you werent pregnant and you and Tony broke up?"

(Bey) "Now thats a whole other scenario" i laughed "Hands down, no questions asked."

(Kelly) laughing "Oh god, you are silly"

(Bey) "OH, i forgot to tell you, he said he's going to write me a song."

(Kelly) "Really Bey, thats great."

(Bey) "Yup, he also wants me to attend the grammys with him and come to his first concert on new years."

(Kelly) "Aw Bey, either he reeeeeeeeeeally likes you or he is just one good as friend."

(Bey) chuckling "I knooooooow."

(Bey's thoughts)

Talking with Kelly about Shawn, made me think about things between he and I. Although we claim ourselves to be friends, somehow it seems that we are so much more than that. I mean i know we both care about each other, but under my circumstances, a relationship with Shawn would be crazy. Shoot,  he told me to text him back. I could hear his mouth now. (LOL) I love talking to Shawn though, i loooooove being around him. He makes me feel so good inside. I began to think about Tony and how's he's been acting lately. This was the Tony i knew, the one i feel in love with. I hate that we had to go through all of that. 

I stayed at Kelly's house for a few moments longer talking and watching tv. I tried texting Shawn back but he never replied. I wonder what he was doing? In the middle of watching tv with Kelly, there was a breaking news story that cut the program we were watching off. It was story about a young female singer who was killed in a place crash. When i realized the girl was Aaliyah, Shawn's ex girl friend, my heart dropped. I realized thats why he probably didn't text me back. Immediately i gather my things to leave.

(Kelly) "Where you going?"

(Bey) "I have to go, i have to find Shawn." i said all in a panic and in a hurry.

(Kelly) jumping up off the couch "Why??? Whats going on??" she was becoming just as frantic as i was.

(Bey) "Do you know who that is?" i said pointing at the tv.

(Kelly) "Yea, it's Aaliyah."

(Bey) "Right, but thats Shawn's ex girlfriend."

(Kelly) "Oh my God Bey, is he okay?"

(Bey) "I don't know, he's not returning any of my texts. Thats why i have to go find him." i said walking towards the door.

(Kelly) "okay, well call me and let me know whats up and when you find him and get in touch with him." she yelled as i was walking out the door.

When i saw the news about Aaliyah's death, i instantly became sick to my stomach. The thought of Shawn and what he was going through right now crossed my mind. I had to find him, i had to talk to him, I had to let him know i was there for him. I couldn't even think straight. I texted Solo to let her know, that i wasn't going to pick her up today. I continued to call and text Shawn but i kept getting no response. I searched ll over New York for him. I went to his place, I went to every restaurant, i went to every all of his spots, then it hit me, HIS STUDIO. I raced there as fast as i could and when i saw his car sitting outside, i instantly became relieved. I got out the car as fast as i could not even parking straight. Im not sure if i even locked my doors. I opened the door and ran up the stairs to his studio, when i walked in i didnt see him. I walked down the hall and went into his office he there he was sitting sitting at his desk with his feet prompted up in his desk, he was lost in his thoughts. I didn't know what to do, i just walked in and sat down on top of his desk across of him.

He just sat there staring off and i just watched him, i didn't know what to say or how to approach the situation. As soon as i was about to speak he started speaking.

(Shawn) "I.....I....I...." he was choking on his words, i could tell he wanted to cry but he was trying his hardest not too.

I moved from around the front of the desk to where he was sitting and stood in front of him, leaning against the desk.

(Bey) "It's okay Shawn" i said placing my hand on his shoulder "I am here with you, you don't have to go through this alone."

(Shawn) "You just don't understand."

(Bey) "What is there to understand, i know it was unexpected but you have to know she's in a better place."

(Shawn) "It's not that though....." he moved his feet from off the desk and placed them on the floor and positioned his self towards me.

(Bey) "Well what is it?" I asked moving closer towards him.

(Shawn) "I just feel so guilty, i feel like it's my fault she is gone." the tone of his voice became more intense.

(Bey) I squatted down to Shawns level looking him in his eyes, my hands were placed on his arms "What Shawn? You can't possibly think that."

(Shawn) "I don't think Beyonce it, i know it." 

He got up and went over to his window and stared out of it. I stood up and turn around, following him with my eyes.

(Bey) "And why is that?"

(Shanw) still looking out the window "When I told you Aaliyah and I broke up, i never told you the real reason why."

Bey was confused, she took a couple step closer to Shawn and said "Well what was the reason."

(Shawn) turns around and looks Bey in the eyes "Remember how i told you the reason was because my heart was feeling something else."

(Bey) still a little confused "Yea"

(Shawn) takes a deep breath "It......it was because of you."

(Bey) "Wait what?"

(Shawn) "Yes, i know. Since the night of your party, i've been feeling something between us. Something i can't explain. Although i tired my best to fight it, there was no way to deny it. As much as i loved Aaliyah, i felt guilty knowing that i had caught feelings for you and it wasn't fair to her, so i had to let her go."

I took a couple steps back and sat down on his desk, trying to take in all that he had just said.

(Bey's thought) Wow, i can't believe Shawn is telling me this. Fine time to tell me. I don't know rather to feel upset about it or guilty. Im feeling a bit of both. Guilty because i had no idea Shawn felt that strongly about me and upset because he waited so late to tell me. Gosh I'm so confused. I must admit, i am flattered that he would sacrifice his relationship, all for me. I began thinking about Tony and comparing him to Shawn and if I could see myself, leaving Tony for Shawn.

(Shawn) "Besides Aaliyah, you have been the only other girl that i have truly have had feelings for. All those other girls were just for show. Aaliyah and I were remained good friends and now that she's gone and seems i have nothing left. And the fact that i ca--"

(Bey) surprised by what he had told me "Why haven't you told me this before?"

(Shawn) "I just didn't know how, i mean i knew i was feeling you, but i never thought my feelings for you would grow this strong. And besides you were engaged to well, what use to be one of my good friends. I didn't want to come in between that."

(Bey) i stood back up and started walking towards Shawn, i had got a little mad "But wasn't it you who said that it's not about what other people think, it's about what i think and whats best for me?"

(Shawn) "Yea, bu--"

(Bey) "But nothing, you leave that decision to me."

(Shawn) walking closer to Bey "Are you mad at me?"

(Bey) "Yes.......No, i mean i don't know. I don't know what I'm suppose to feel right now."

I guess i was kind of was mad, because he's been holding back his true feelings all long. And here i was going through all the shit with Tony, where i could have been working on things with Shawn. After all the shit i've been through with Tony i knew we were at our final moments. I couldn't take much more drama between he and I. Where on the other hand I could have Shawn, who's showed me all the things i've been wanting and needing in these past 2 months, then all the while i've been with Tony.

(Shawn) "Well i'm sorry if i've complicated things for you, that was not my intentions." he said about to walk away.

(Bey) "Shawn wait" i said grabbing him by his arm.

(Shawn) turning around to face Bey.

At this very moment I knew right then and there where Shawn and I stood together. I was tired of beating around the bush. I know i had all those thoughts about not jumping into a quick relationship with him, but that wasn't my plan. I wanted to let Shawn see, i cared just as much about him as he did about me. And if he was willing too make sacrifices i was too. I stood there looking at Shawn who was looking at me and finally i spoke.

(Bey) "No Shawn, you didn't complicate things for me" i said rubbing my hand across his face "If anything, you made me see things more clearly."

And before i knew Shawn and I were locking lips. And no this was no dream, this was the real deal. The kiss we shared let both Shawn and myself know, that things between us were official. We were no longer friends. He pulled me in towards him as close as he possibly could and gripped my body so tight. I grabbed on to him really tight, by his shirt. You could tell that this was something we both were waiting for. This kiss was waaaaaay different then the one he and i shared the night of his party. This was a kiss of no return, which meant from here on out thins between Shawn and I would NOT be the same. This was the start of a new beginning.
